Last week I wrote about how the players in Disco Candybar make meaningful choices when it comes to playing out an in-game battle encounter. Today I’m trying something different: an actual video demo of a sample battle. The Warrior takes on a pair of AI-piloted Goblins, and I take on the technical challenges of getting a full, unscripted fight filmed in a single take with just a phone and a basic tripod. (One went a little bit better than the other.)
The video quality came out just good enough that I’m not scrambling to reshoot it; I forgot that when I put my hands in from the side of the shot, the camera would readjust focus on my stupid forearms, leaving the text on the cards themselves pretty difficult to read, and the numbers on the cards were already pretty small in the picture. I remembered to explain everything as I went though, so as long as your audio is on, it’s easy enough to follow.
Thanks, and enjoy! (And if you do enjoy this, please share the link to this page on your preferred social media platform!)
